MOU BETWEEN EPA & HARTZ MOUNTAIN INDUSTRIES

Hartz has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement with the USEPA, under which it has agreed to become a member of EPA's "Green Team." In doing so, Hartz has joined an exclusive group of public and private entities which have pledged to cut water and energy use, utilizing EPA programs to help achieve these green benefits.

Under the MOU, Hartz has agreed to:
  • Become an EPA Energy Star and WasteWise partner
  • Utilize WaterSense products
  • Follow EPA GreenScapes Guidelines
  • Utilize clean construction equipment; and
  • Undertake engine idling reduction programs.
    •
    Hartz will report its progress to EPA once per year.
